For several years I’ve been concerned with how pornography has become ubiquitous in our culture. I don’t have a problem with porn per se, but I really don’t think children should have access to it.
Most people I’ve spoken to about this agree, but until very recently everyone just sort of threw up their hands and accepted it as part of the culture.
In the last three years, quite a few states and countries have passed laws regulating it. That’s good in theory, but it’s created new challenges around implementation. I won’t bore you with the details except to say that age verification is a really hard problem.
Fortunately, solutions are starting to arrive, but the ecosystem is fragmented, and many consumers don’t trust them. In order to change that, I started a nonprofit to provide a simple, safe solution that doesn’t compete with the various providers.
